On stage in Capri, the most famous Italian island in the world, a theatre of art whose protagonists propose to the public, through different languages and techniques – from painting, to sculpture, from photography, to video, to installations – their view of this world. Experiences that open to reflection on the meaning of making art today in a global system that not only is wide open, but in rapid and constant change.
The IGAV and the Superintendency present, at the Charterhouse of San Giacomo, ‘Contemporary Visions‘, some of the most significant experiences of the current Italian art system. It’s about a collective exposition, curated by Alessandro Demma, which underlines some of the fundamental steps of current art, through the works of thirty two artists from different generations.
The ex-convent charterhouse becomes the stage for a narration of current Italian art. The historical-artistic layers of the building enter into a dialogue with the works, from which we can investigate the present and future possibilities of art.
For a month, from 13th September to Sunday 12th October, the Charterhouse becomes a suggestive and privileged place of meeting of the diverse expressions and multiple experiences of Italian art, an ideal and physical frame where we can rediscover some of the fundamental steps in the artistic culture of Italy.
Artists on show: AfterAll; Maura Banfo; Matteo Basilè; Domenico Borrelli; Botto&Bruno; Stefano Cagol; Gianni Caravaggio; Filippo Centenari; Davide Coltro; Peter Demetz; Stanislao Di Giugno; Rocco Dubbini; Eron; Marco Grassi; Paolo Grassino; Francesco Jodice; Mariangela Levita; Nicus Lucà; Domenico Antonio Mancini; Masbedo; Marzia Migliora; Moio&Sivelli; Perino&Vele; Giuseppe Pietroniro; Giulia Piscitelli; Marco Nereo Rotelli; Rosy Rox; Francesco Sena; Diana Avgusta Stauer; Adrian Tranquilli; Fabio Viale; Ciro Vitale.
