On the evening of 8 December 1980 Mark Chapman assassinated John Lennon, quenching the dreams of millions of Beatles fans, doomed to remain orphans for ever. The dynamic of that event and the sensations it aroused are brought to life by the words of the protagonist and the songs of the Fab Four, which had become an almost mystical love-hate object for the killer. Fears, emotions, moments of delirium punctuate a story that combines music and drama, in which the tension never lapses. In the role of Chapman there is Alessandro Haber, making his Festival début, while the timeless music of the Beatles comes across in the arrangement and orchestration of such classical composers as Takemitsu, Brouwer and Molinelli.
